Getting bad grades doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent. Deciding to drink or smoke doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent. Choosing not to type using perfect syntax doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent. Liking the things you like doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent. One of the biggest issues I take with “nerd culture” is the way a sense of alienation mutates into a need to feel superior to others for superficial reasons. It’s really ugly.
